Dennis started pro rallying as a co-driver, competing in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and Ontario events. He was chairman of the STPR in 1982 with Andy Mayfield and in 1983 with Art Michalik. STPR won its first Pro Rally of the Year award in 1983. Also, Dennis and Art have represented the SCCA at the 1983 RAC rally in Great Britain. Dennis has always thought rallying is the purest form of motorsport.
