Round 3 of the 2004 SCCA ProRally Championship

LANCASTER, Calif (April 9, 2004) - - Organizers of the Rim of the World Rally have announced that an

Import Auto Show will be part of the weekends activities. Going beyond the typical off-road rally experience, the

2004 Subaru Rim of the World Rally presented by Autosport Engineering will feature over 40 acres of motorsports

excitement, including the inaugural Rim of the World Import Car Show. In addition to the usual rally stage spectator

areas in the scenic hills of the Angeles National Forest, rally goers can now enjoy the “on-road” convenience of the

Antelope Valley Fairgrounds in Lancaster where the 2004 Rim of the World Rally will be headquartered. A

European-style, side-by-side rally stadium super special stage event, a 45,000 square foot indoor Rally Expo, live

rally service pit area along with the auto show will make the Rim of the World one of the largest and most diverse

motorsports experiences on the West Coast. The excitement begins with the rally stages commencing Friday

evening, May 7, 2004 and the fairground activities taking place Saturday, May 8.

“The 2004 Subaru Rim of the World Rally will be one of the premier Motorsports Festivals in Southern California

and is a must do event for any racing enthusiast,” said Ray Hocker, chairman of the 2004 Subaru Rim of the World

Rally presented by Autosport Engineering. “No other event can boast the on-road and off-road excitement of both

rally racing and import tuners, right in the heart of the global automotive market.”

The 2004 Subaru Rim of the World Rally will be held on May 7~8, 2004 in the Lancaster/Palmdale region of

Southern California, situated 40 minutes north of Los Angeles. Commonly referred to as “The Rim”, the rally race

is round three of the 2004 SCCA ProRally Championship. Competitors will face the treacherous terrain and rutted

fire roads in the hills of California’s Angeles National Forest. The televised 2003 event saw over 80 entries

undertake the challenges of “The Rim” and the 2004 rally promises to deliver even greater competition and gravel

pounding excitement. More information and admission ticket details on the rally can be found at the official website

at www.rimoftheworldrally.com.
