While most of the competitors finished last night’s stages in good shape, several racers had their problems (also posted live on the web site under “Retirements.”)

9. Brian Scott/John Dillon won the Friday night California Rally Series event in his Subaru WRX ST1, besting Leon Styles/Mark McAllister’s Mitsubishi Evo by 18 seconds, although Styles did win the Group N CRS title. The Dan Brink/Vern Anderson Eagle Talon edged the Porsche 964 Carrera 4 of Dennis Chizma/Andrew Cushman in CRS Production GT.
10. For Saturday morning, the field will go out to the woods for early morning stages, and then come back to the fairgrounds for Super Special Stage #2. First car due back at 11:30 AM.
11. Travas Pastrana has expanded his lead over Ken Block to 50 seconds after six stages, as Block not only had an on-stage bobble, but was having transmission troubles. When his car came in for service, the crew went right to work, checking the undercarriage for damage and replacing the transmission. The George Plsek/Jeff Burmeister Mitsubishi continues to run third after six stages, while the Leon Styles/Mark McAllister Mitsubishi is fourth,
